It was built by the Genoese in 1348 AD and located in Karaköy. It is 66.90 meters tall and 16 meters at the base. The walls are 3.50 meters thick.
You can find a restaurant and cafe on its upper floors and it has magnificent view of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.
This tower is used as an observation tower for spotting fires during the Ottoman period.
Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi flew by using artificial wings for gliding from this tower over the Bosphorus to Uskudar on the Asian side.
